Holiday Movies to Watch

One of the best times of the year is coming up, Christmas. The atmosphere of Christmas is joy and giving thanks. In the lead up to Christmas, some of the best activities are listening to festive music, getting in the holiday spirit, and most importantly, watching some of your favorite Christmas movies. Some Christmas movies are watched for tradition, as it is a wonderful introduction to the holiday season. Here are some of the best and most fun movies to watch for Christmas. 

Home Alone

Home alone is one of the all-time classics for many homes across America and the world. Home alone starring Macauly Culkin is about a boy in a very rich family that was left at home for Christmas by accident. The movie portrays Kevin, a little boy, keeping out robbers that are trying to take advantage of the vulnerable home with only the boy inside. The movie is very funny, and it can always make people laugh. The humorous and fictitious movie is a fan favorite and is a perfect way to start off the holidays.  

 

 

The Polar Express

The Polar Express, released in 2004, is considered to be one of the best Christmas movies of all time. The movie is a story of a little boy traveling to the north pole at night to meet Santa, where he learns that the Christmas spirit is the key to Christmas. This movie displays the tradition of Christmas very well, and it is a family favorite in the holiday time. 

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

The Grinch is one of the most well known Christmas movies in the entire world, with the goofy and ecstatic character played by comedian Jim Carrey, this movie is sure to give anyone who watches it a laugh. With the sour yet hilarious character of the Grinch, the movie is a story about the grinch trying to cancel Christmas for the town he lives above, because of the obnoxious holiday spirit they portray. However, his mindset changes at the end of the movie with him experiencing this spirit, and this wholesome ending is perfect for watching with your family. 

Elf

Elf is a hilarious and wholesome film that is perfect for the holiday season. Will Ferrell plays an elf that is not quite like the others. The story is an adventure of Buddy trying to find his father and takes the audience with him on his rambunctious and fun adventure through New York City. With countless hilarious moments from the comedian, this movie is sure to give you a good time and make you laugh.

 

 

 

With all of these movies, your holiday experience can be lifted to the highest level, and can sure get you ready for Christmas. There are many more classic Christmas movies, however, if you want to watch as a family, these movies are the best to do so!
