2016 was a great year for the rap and hip hop scene, due to the releases of extremely unique albums. This year had an amazing start with fresh content from Drake, Lil’ Yachty and numerous other artists. Here are some new and highly anticipated releases to look out for in 2017.
Bad and Boujee is by far the most popular song of 2017 so far. The single has gone platinum and is currently number one on the “US Billboard 100”. With the promotion for Culture, the single dropped early in October. By November, the excitement for the release of Culture became unbearable with their considerably “late” drop in January. Culture is an amazing album which has set the rap/hip-hop on fire scene with crazy expectations.
After hinting the release of “Astroworld” throughout 2016, it is finally coming out this May. The album is rumored to have a lot of self-produced instrumentals, as he claims on his Twitter by stating that, “this year I’ll be making more beats”. Also, keep an eye out for features from PARTYNEXTDOOR and Lil Uzi Vert. This album is definitely something to look out for.
Khalid first gained popularity with his hit single “Location” which dropped back in April 2016. The mood of his music is mostly R&B, which continues on to his new album “American Teen”. It was released earlier this month and is truly phenomenal. With his soft voice and a perfect beat, Khalid is able to climb to the top of the charts.
Out of these three highly anticipated albums, Astroworld would by far have to be the best. I am sure that Travis will deliver an outstanding album to satisfy his fans.
