Dear Lil Grandma Pey,

Don’t be afraid of moving or leaving your friends. You make so many new friendships and your friendships back in Hong Kong only grow stronger. Don’t get mad at your parents for stupid things, they have your best interests at heart. Make sure to remind the people you love just how much you love them. I know that having a huge group of friends seems really cool at the time, but having a few really close friends is much cooler (s/o Sirius XM). And also stop drinking so much bubbletea.

Dear Lil’ Ciel,

Stop comparing yourself to your extremely intelligent and beautiful friends, because you are too. Indulge in Thai food, indulge in the whirlwind that is high school, and indulge in the city of Bangkok. Don’t stress too much about clubs and grades because despite getting a C+ in math, missing a deadline, and getting influenza B during the worst week possible, you got into college. Worry about the future, but revel in the present. Because today is a day you will never get back.

I still don’t know whether Jon Snow is alive or dead for sure, so don’t worry about spoilers! However: try your best to radiate positivity. Being negative is not the same thing as having a realistic point of view on the unravelling of the events that ultimately make up your life. Positivity in your thoughts translates to positivity in your life, even if it is easy to be negative and to accept that “that’s the way it is”, and even if it is harder to know that you can make things better for yourself and others. Also, BE KIND ALWAYS!
