Badminton Girls For Bronze!!!

The final season of the 2017-2018 ISB school year is now over. Our girls badminton team was able to return home with a well-deserved bronze medal after working extremely hard over the course of the season.

The girls badminton team not only was able to get a bronze at IASAS, but they were also able to bring a silver medal from BISAC back to ISB. This was yet another great accomplishment and proof that the team had a very rewarding past season.

Girls’ Captain, Prong Danchaivichit (12) said that, “this was beyond our expectations, as each and every team member was completely dedicated and committed since the beginning of the season.” Following this statement, she exclaimed that she  “could not be more proud.” They were able to finish with this bronze medal because of their will to keep fighting during IASAS on behalf of ISB.

Not only that, but she also mentioned that in every single  game, at least one of her teammates was able to surprise her because of their hard work and dedication throughout the season and their persistence to continue working over the course of the season.

Some examples of when their hard work paid off was “when our Doubles 1 – Desoraya and Lulu,  won Singapore to win the Round Robin, or when collectively as a team, we were able to beat SAS 4-1 in the Round Robins to be placed as 3rd seed.” Their ability to win the game against Singapore is what set them up to be able to compete in the 3rd/4th place game for the bronze.

From a more personal note, Prong mentioned that “our team bond increased over IASAS as we had a ritual prior to starting each game.” This ritual was able to help calm the nerves of the players as well as to hype up the team. It was also said that the girls never let each other get too down on themselves by continuously cheering for each other no matter the score. Not only that but they also gained lots of support from the guys who made it to all of the girls games they could.

Overall, the girls were able to create a bond that can never be broken over the course of IASAS as well as memories that will last a lifetime.

How do you feel the girls team performed at IASAS. Feel free to leave your comments below.
