Do you wonder what your teachers looked like in high school? They cannot be that different, right? To fulfill our curiosity, we asked some teachers to send us their senior yearbook photos and their thoughts while taking the picture.
My “style” at the time as you can see was big hair, and it was an enormous amount of time, effort, and hairspray. So glad those days are over. 🙂
It was taken just a few minutes after my high school graduation! I don’t know what I’m doing with my hands, or what is going on with my hair…talking about “style” I always had an awful hairstyle. Was very happy when it fell out!
I honestly don’t think our clothes style was much different…maybe everything was a little ‘baggier’…or maybe I was just a little skinnier?!
I remember my senior year as being nothing but fun, we were finally the top of the High school pile, ruling over the Grade 8s, 9s, 10s and 11s. We didn’t have the high stakes stress of the IB, so we just did our classes and never really worried about the future.
Music ruled our lives, with the beats of Pearl Jam and the Red Hot Chili Peppers pumping out of our Discmans. My friends and I must have watched Romeo and Juliet (the Leonardo DiCaprio one), Twister and Scream fifty times during senior year.
Short shorts and exposed midriffs were high in the fashion stakes. We were relaxed, with our biggest stress of the year being who to go to formal (like prom) with.
Wow! It is funny to look at that!!! What was I thinking?! I suppose I was thinking I was cool! If you look at the hard rock bands of the day (Metallica, Ozzy, Kiss, Bon Jovi etc.), it was kind of the the fashion! They were called “Hair Bands” for a reason! Though I probably wouldn’t go with the same hairstyle, it would be nice to have that much hair today!
