Shugaa is a pastel colored dessert cafe that caters to your sweet tooth through delectable treats in all shapes and sizes. The geometric copper shaped lights and mint green walls set the atmosphere and result in an instant mood lifter once you enter. As you walk around you may notice the glass showcases that present adorable and intricate fondue creations. These fodue creations range from tiny people to intricate animals, each created by the cafe staff. If you are interested the Cafe holds weekly classes where you can learn how to create these sweet works of art.
The cafe’s beautiful interior decor results in it serving as a beautiful location to take photos. One of the more popular and instagram famous locations in this cafe is the cotton candy colored polar bear. These adorable bears serve as the perfect opportunity to take a great picture and has been spotted amongst numerous thai bloggers recents posts. Overall this cafe’s decor is uplifting and aesthetic.
Once seated, the kind wait staff present you with a simplistic menu that illustrates all of Shugaa’s delicacies. Shugaa has a variety of desserts, each catering to the customer. We firstly decided to order a non alcoholic fruit sangria. This drink is essentially fresh okra incubated with lemon and fresh apple for 72 hours. This drink is served in a jug and is perfect to share between friends. This drink was refreshing and served as a great palette cleanser for the deserts yet to come.
The first dessert to make its way onto our table was the signature shugaa Matcha special. The first thing I noticed about this dessert was its exquisite presentation. The dessert itself is served on a wooden log and looks visually pleasing. The matcha special is hot matcha sponge cake with delicious chestnut lava. This perfect duo is paired with homemade green tea ice cream. The sponge cake was perfect as it was freshly baked and moist. The green tea ice cream balanced the richness of the sponge cake and overall is a must have for matcha lovers. Although I myself am not the biggest matcha fan, I cannot deny how delicious this dessert was.
The second dessert we ordered was called Hokkaido Heaven. This delightful dish is creamy hokkaido cheese cake sided with strawberry sorbet, topped with grounded graham crackers. The cheesecake is rich while the strawberry sorbet is refreshing and fruity. Overall I would have to say this is my favorite dish as I am a dye heart strawberry fan.
Overall Shugaa cafe is the perfect place to go if you are looking for a place to satisfy your sweet tooth. The cafes atmosphere and delicious desserts are certainly a key aspect in customers going over and over.
