Give Thanks in a creative and crafty way this Thanksgiving. Get ready to spice up your home with these fresh and fun decoration ideas. These are five ways according to Pinterest and country living to get the Thanksgiving spirit in your house:
There are a lot of creative and non-time consuming ways to decorate your mantel or shelf.
Materials: Antique clips, twine and fall leaves
Tape the twine along the mantel and clip the fall leaves or alphabets to spell ‘Thanksgiving’ onto it. This idea works for any event such as Christmas, New Year, and many more.
Although this will take a little more time, the fantastic look and ‘fall-ness’ it brings to your home will make up for it.
Materials: Mason jar, different colored glitter, spray glue, scissors, sharpie and shelf liner.
To symbolise thanks, draw a heart with a sharpie on the shelf liner. Then, cut out the heart. Remove the back side to reveal the sticky side and stick it inside the mason jar. Take the spray glue and spray the inside of the mason jar.
It’s time to be artsy get out our glitter as this is the time to sprinkle a generous amount of fall glitter colours, such as orange, red or brown. Screw the lid back on and shake it up. After that, pour out the excess glitter and use a pencil or pen to help remove the sticker. Put a candle inside and voila you have an amazing candle to put on your shelf or room.
Messages you are thankful for
Materials: For this you are going to need a small tree without leaves because we are going to be creating our own leaves: A string, a small card and tape
This might look hard but it is in fact very easy. First, start by writing messages to people you are thankful for or what saying thank you means to you. Now all you have to do is cut out the string and place the string make sure it is centered on the card and tape it down.
Make sure you tape it on the middle of the string. Then tie it up on a branch of the tree. As simple as that, you now have a thankful tree that your friends and family or anyone who you are thankful can read and appreciate it.
This is a nice thanksgiving twist on a classic wreath.
Materials: Lots of leaf-shaped paper, flowers, a ribbon, and a stapler
Write messages on the leaf shaped papers or draw anything you want. Staple the first 2 papers behind the flowers on each side and keep on building it depending on how big you want it and connect both sides.
Then, staple the ribbon below and behind the flower. This might seem hard but when you are done it will look wonderful and the people you have wrote messages will really appreciate it.
These are what PantherNation came up with:
Materials: Candles and Sticks
This one is super easy all you have to do is get any candle preferably one that smells like pumpkin spice or anything autumnal.
Next you just get the sticks and hot glue them onto the sides. And that is it! You can put these on your mantel in your room or on the tables, it adds a welcoming and warm feel to your home
Materials: Fall leaves, glitter, spray glue
This one is inexpensive and is a quick process. First, start off by collecting fall leaves of any shape and size. Then you are going to spray glue the leaves. Pour the glitter on it now for fall you can use the colour gold and orange but it is up to you. Next you pour out the excess glitter. It is done you can put it on your bedside table on the dining table. It adds a spice and something sparkly to the home.
Materials: Chalkboard, decoration cranberry twine, and leaves.
This one you first start of by writing a message on the chalkboard for example “Happy Thanksgiving” and as most of these crafts that are mentioned we are going to tape our leaves and decoration not real cranberries onto the twine that is it. Then you tape the twine on to the chalkboard and hang it in front or at the door of your house to greet your guests.
