Everyday during the club fairs, the MPB was filled with students eager to find clubs that allowed themselves to explore their passions. With the numerous service clubs offered, there are many opportunities to find a way to serve others near or far.

In Northern Thailand, four young girls are hoping to receive education scholarship funds to continue attending school. The Northern Thailand Tuition Fund (NTTF) club, one of the service clubs here at ISB, intends to provide just that.

The club is sent profiles by the girls who hope to receive the scholarships. Within these profiles, they explained their future goals and and reasons for wanting to continue school. “Our club’s only focus is to raise enough money to be able to send all of the girls scholarship funds by the end of the year,” states Stella Kim (12), one of the club officers.

Each one of these four girls have a unique story and a reason as to why they would like to continue attending school. Orathai is a seventh grader that aspires to attend university. Supasorn is also in seventh grade, and she dreams of growing up to be a teacher. Praepirai is a fourth grader who hopes of being a businesswoman. Lastly, Tanyaluk is a fourth grader who is ambitious to become an English teacher. Her father has cancer, and her mother ran away along with her two siblings. NTTF is dedicated to this cause, and as Stella explained, “It is quite a big responsibility, because I never want to be in a situation where our club wasn’t able to raise enough money and thus, end up having to pick and choose which girls to sponsor.”

NTTF has multiple events planned for this year in order to achieve their goal of raising enough money for the scholarships. One of the main fundraising events is the Northern Thailand Fund Run, but with a twist! Stella explains, “alongside the usual ‘running for a good cause’, we added a fun obstacle course that everyone can take part in, which I think makes our event a little more unique and definitely more enjoyable.”
