Six schools, 84 entries, 105 individual competitors, 73 judges, 28 ISB student volunteers, and five events/divisions. It was a busy few days at ISB, which hosted the annual Forensics & Debate CC IASAS this year Thursday through Saturday.
Twelve students from various IASAS schools nominated one of our students for the Spirit of IASAS Award, given to those who exhibit “exemplary behavior” that “builds community and sets the standard” that all IASAS schools strive to see from delegates. Congratulations to Ruotong Tian, a senior and extemporaneous speaking delegate who made an especially positive impression on students and faculty from across the IASAS schools. The award is such a privilege because “it is not based on competition or winning,” says ISB’s Conor Duffy, who served as the event’s Forensics Coordinator in addition to coach for ISB’s Oral Interpretation team. “It embodies character qualities such as sportsmanship, generosity, humility, fellowship, and goodwill.”
In addition, if you see them in the hallway, please offer your congratulations to delegates from all CC events and in particular to the following Forensics & Debate students who were recognized as finalists and medal winners.
