Long Talk-Mr. Bell
May 8, 2018
This year, we are sad to say that some of our beloved teachers will be leaving us. As part of an ongoing series, PantherNation sat down with the departing staff to get their thoughts on their time at ISB and where they are going next.
Mr. Bell is the librarian here at ISB as well as a tech advisor.
Mr. Bell: I started at ISB as the HS Technology Coordinator/Coach. I did that job (among others) for 3 years. Then I added the Librarian role to my position. This last year I also added the Administrator for several of the school technology systems. I’ve been at ISB for an amazing 6 years. It has been a fantastic place to work and I’ve loved my interactions with staff and students. This is a great place.
Before I came to ISB I was in Doha Qatar at a small K-12 school as Tech Director and Head of Libraries called Awsaj Academy for 2 years and before that I worked as a Head of Tech and Head of Library in 3 different high schools in Colorado for 10 years.
I have too many to name one. I would have to say I’ve loved my role as a Track and Field Coach, also the TED Talk events are very special and stand out as wonderful memories and lastly having the opportunity to be part of Media Studies and all of the IASAS events as the streaming person.
I am going to the American School In Japan. I am looking forward to just doing one job, and hopefully doing it well. I will be the Librarian there.
My favorite subjects in school was social studies and PE.
This changes from time to time. Right now I love Brooklyn 99.
I get to have great conversations with all kinds of students and teachers about books. I also love that I am helping teach students to research as I believe this is a skill that everyone needs to be successful in the future.
We are sad to say goodbye to Mr. Bell, after three long years here at ISB. Thank you for all of your hard work here, and we wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors.
