Whether you’re brainstorming for a nice location for your next birthday dinner or looking for a quick visit to an eatery after a day of shopping with your friends, it’s nice to treat yourself with some delicious food once in a while, especially after a stressful week at school.

There is definitely a larger list of restaurants that serve mouth-watering food in Bangkok, but this is a short and diverse guide to some of the top restaurants in Bangkok with the best atmosphere and food quality that you will definitely appreciate!

  1. Roast

Roast Coffee and Eatery has a very cozy, spacious atmosphere that is well-lit and delightfully decorated. It has a very industrial feel, housed in a huge brick and glass block with tons of comfy retro seats inside or outside along the balcony. It is a great casual place to go to for brunch, lunch or to hang out with friends and family.

Roast has an extensive list of food options in a menu creatively formatted as a newspaper. Roast definitely has some of the best modern food in Bangkok, and the coffee and drinks are also fantastic. However, the only drawback is you might need to wait for a table, especially around lunch time due to the popularity.

  1.  Crêpes & Co

Crêpes & Co is a casual restaurant that not only serves great food at a reasonable price, while also exposes you to a homely, yet stylish atmosphere. You can enjoy your meal whilst relaxing on a comfortable sofa or chatting with friends at a regular table, experiencing a fused restaurant offering a mixture of crepes, mediterranean food, and more.

As written in its name, Crêpes & Co, crepes are definitely a trademark of this eatery. It does however, offer mediterranean foods such as moussaka, and brunches on weekends. However, I must admit that going for the crepes is definitely worth it; there are extensive varieties for savory and sweet taste, and not to mention, you can even create your very own personal crepe made with ingredients exclusively to your liking.
Crêpes & Co also has an app in iTunes, designed for both iPhone and iPad. The main purpose of the app is to collect points and check in at different locations of the restaurants, which makes the experience even more fun and interesting. You can even receive awards from collecting points, get free coffee from loyalty stamps, and have access to extra reservation contact forms and information.

This is a very casual place to eat at where you are settled amongst a dining option at the famous mall, Central World. Although this is a very casual restaurant, it is one you must try. Once you emerge into this dining experience, you will encounter a modern decor , which is very simplistic; but in all honesty, the food is much better than the atmosphere.

Din Tai Fung is a Taiwanese originated restaurant, and has become more widespread due to its incredible popularity. Food options range from the famous xiao long bao dish– a steamed dumpling filled with pork– to fried rice, and hot and sour soup. I find this to be one of my favorite food destinations when I am seeking a inexpensive and delicious meal after a long day of shopping.

El Gaucho Steakhouse is spread across two levels, there is an outside deck on the first floor, while the main dining area is on the second floor. The atmosphere is warm and the room is well decorated with floor to ceiling windows that gives diners a view of the bustling downtown Bangkok. This restaurant is a bit more fancy than the others, and is known to have a real Argentine atmosphere. There’s a variety of seating choices, which include regular and high tables, plus the comfy lounge chairs, divided into different sections.

El Gaucho serves rather expensive, but very good quality steaks. The meat-heavy menu includes main dishes of beef, pork, chicken, lamb and fish. There is also a slim option of vegetables and a long list of side dishes as well. The steak served at El Gaucho is known to be one of the best tasting and quality steaks in Bangkok, and can be described as superb and mouthwatering. Although it may be a bit pricey, it is definitely a must-try restaurant in Bangkok!

Chef Bar is a small eatery where you are seated in front of the action of the food making process. Don’t be deceived by the small looks of this cozy restaurant. A sense of a more personal attention by staff will be given to you not only when waiting for your food, but also in the making of your food. However, as this is mentioned, seating at times may be limited;I would not recommend bringing your twenty or so friends for a birthday treat.

This restaurant may not be too well known for many, however, the satisfying feeling that your tastebuds receive will be memorable. Chef Bar’s “delicacy” is very popular, and well known Western-originated food: hamburgers. So lets cut to the chase; this eatery offers excellent burgers with quality wagyu beef. Other food options are available such as steaks and beef pies.

Location: Sukhumvit Soi 23, Sukhumvit Road, Wattana, Bangkok 10110.

So get out of Nichada and try these hot spots in Bangkok!
