The Avengers Series from marvel studios is one of the most popular movie franchises in the world, starring world class actors such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, and many more. Infinity wars is the newest Avengers movie has been a big hit, with the movie earning a record of $630 million worldwide on its debut weekend. To those casual fans out there who might have not been catching up with the latest movies by Marvel other than the previous avengers movies, here are some things that you need to know before watching.
- Avengers Split Up
The film Captain America: Civil War explores the theme of government regulation, and the different parties inside the avenger squad itself. If you can remember the #teamcap or #teamironman the avengers were split into 2 parties, and there is still a lot of remaining tension between Iron Man and Captain America.
- Thanos and the infinity stones
Thanos is the main villain of this movie. His objective is to collect the 6 infinity stones, which will make him invincible. Most of these infinity stones have already been introduced to us in past marvel movies. The Power stone that was shown during the Guardians of the Galaxy, was left in the hands of Nova corp in Xander. The Tesseract (which contains the Space stone) has been shown in many marvel films including, Captain America: First Avenger, The Avengers, and Thor: Ragnarok
- Thor and Asgard
In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor, Loki, and Hulk teams up to fight their sister and the goddess of death, Hela. In the movie Thor loses his eye and his hammer, mjolnir in his battles with Hela. The audience also discovered that Hulk and Bruce Banner are 2 separate beings. At the end of Thor:Ragnarok Asgard was destroyed and Loki, Thor, and Hulk boarded the refugee ship. Loki manages to escape with the tesseract hidden. After the credit scenes the refugee ship was found by Thanos’s ship and the movie cuts off there.
Other honorable mentions for movies to watch beforehand would be to Black Panther, Dr.Strange, and Guardians of the Galaxy. They all play a huge role in the movie, like the character Dr.Strange and his powers, the land and people of Wakanda, and most importantly the relationship between Gamora and Thanos.
The new movie has a lot of complicated background stories, with new character integration. Though some parts are still left unexplained to us, it has been a blast for cinema’s worldwide.
