News is the source that people go to so they can stay up to date with modern society. Whether you watch it on TV or read it online, you are learning more and more about our ever changing world. It can good, it can be bad, and it can be ugly. Last time, I gave you the bad news, so today, I present to you the good and the ugly things you should know.

If you just happened to be driving downtown this past Sunday night at around 9 p.m., you were the witness of what people are saying to be a meteor flashing across the sky. For a few seconds, the whole sky lit up green. A phenomenon that left any speechless.

Halloween for many was a great time to collect candy, be with friends and dress up as characters. For 33-year-old Jacqueline Eide, it was her night to sneak into a Nebraska Zoo to go and pet a tiger, while under the influence no less. Serious harm was done to her left hand, after getting bit from the tiger. If this doesn’t warn you about the dangers of interacting with possibly dangerous animals, then I don’t what will.

In the 1970’s, China introduced the one-child policy in order to decrease the population growth rate, and for a while it worked. Recently people have realized that this was responsible for an increase in elders, and a major decrease of people in the work force. As a result, China announced that the one-child policy will be discontinued, and that it will be replaced with the brand new two-child policy, which will take effect in March of 2016.
