The tennis courts have been buzzing with determined players, ready to face the new season with enthusiasm and anticipation for the upcoming exchange and IASAS. Both Varsity tennis teams have already started training hard, with three main things on their mind: to improve, enjoy the season and win.

The girls’ Varsity tennis team has entered the season with a lot of excitement and eagerness, not only to improve, but also to have fun and get to know each other better as a team.

Captain Lily Akrapongpisak (12) states “the majority of the players are new, as there are only four returning players out of the 14.” However, she also adds, “the whole team is very eager to improve and everyone seems very dedicated!

The Varsity girls’ head coach, Coach Marion says that their main goal is “to improve their tennis skills and have a real passion and love for the game.” She also mentions that because the team has lost quite a few strong players from last year, they are looking to build up a new foundation with a new team.

Coach Marion describes her new team as “motivated, hardworking and fun,” also adding that, “the girls are all very keen in doing well, getting better and the team spirit is high.”

The boys are also hoping to win the gold medal this year, and Captain Mong Sukpraprut (11) notes that they “have a strong team composed of younger players that have the potential to do well.” He also declares that he can “only see the team getting stronger and stronger.”

Mong also mentioned the team’s goal of “improving [their] skills and doing well at IASAS and BISAC tournaments!”

Both teams are noticeably ready for the new season and as Lily says, we “hope to see our players hit twice as hard, and be twice as smart as IASAS approaches!”
